Announcement of Greenfield Peace Essay Winners
Oregon PSR is pleased to announce the ten finalists of the Greenfield Peace Essay contest. Contestants from twenty-eight cities throughout Oregon entered by submitting an original essay of a minimum of 500 words describing their thoughts on the following statement by Wendell Berry, “If we are serious about peace, then we must work for it as ardently, seriously, continuously, carefully, and bravely as we have ever prepared for war."
Ranking for the first, second and third places will be announced at the Award dinner. The top three essays will be read to dinner attendees by the student or a PSR board member. Students in the running for one of the top three scholarships for $2,000, $1,500 and $1,000 are:
- Teresa De Sitter, Hood River, Hood River Valley High School
